Banning Lewis Ranch is a planned community, located in the eastern portion of Colorado Springs. Although originally a cattle ranching operation, there were attempts to turn the area into residential land beginning in the mid-20th century, and the area was incorporated into the city of Colorado Springs in 1988.

Today, Banning Lewis Ranch boasts many luxurious residences that attract buyers looking for homes with a distinct architectural quality, combined with a growing, vibrant community offering unparalleled amenities. As it is located within a larger planned community, Banning Lewis Ranch real estate is able to cater to the needs and desires of its residents to an extent that few other communities can match.

In addition, a junior-sized Olympic pool and tennis courts allow residents even more fitness opportunities within Banning Lewis Ranch. Several parks have been built into the community, including Northtree Park (the ‘Central Park’ of Banning Lewis Ranch). Northtree Park features both basketball and soccer facilities, and visitors to the park can connect to free Wi-Fi. The Banning Lewis Ranch Academy is a public charter school located within the Banning Lewis Ranch area itself, and enrolls students from kindergarten through eighth grade. Opened in 2006, it offers superior educational opportunities for children living in the community. Other schools located nearby include: Ridgeview Elementary School, Horizon Middle School, Vista Ridge High School, Sand Creek High School, and Falcon High School. The closest universities are Colorado Christian University, the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and Colorado College. Public libraries in the area include the Pikes Peak Library on North Union Boulevard and the Ruth Holley Public Library.

Health care institutions located nearby include the Saint Francis Medical Center, Peak View Behavioral Health, UCHealth Urgent Care, and Memorial Hospital North.

Although there is no public transportation servicing the community of Banning Lewis Ranch itself, residents can perhaps take advantage of Mountain Metropolitan Transit, which services Colorado Springs and offers stops within seven miles of Banning Lewis Ranch. Greyhound services Colorado Springs at its South Weber Street station, and the Colorado Springs Airport is located about 20 minutes to the south of the Banning Lewis Ranch community.
