A newer addition to the area includes the Thomas MacLaren Charter School. Additionally, Penrose Public Library is located on North Cascade Avenue.
Health care institutions located in and around east Colorado Springs include Memorial Hospital Central, Penrose Community Urgent Care, and Penrose-St. Francis Health Services.
Transportation throughout Colorado Springs is provided by Mountain Metropolitan Transit. In addition, there is an Amtrak station on South Weber Street that can connect Colorado Springs with neighboring cities, and the Colorado Springs Airport on Milton E. Proby Parkway.
