I know when you’re considering where you would like to live, it can be a struggle to narrow down the list. The United States is an expansive country with many incredible cities and areas to choose from. Who could blame you for feeling overwhelmed?
But if Colorado Springs isn’t already on your list, it needs to be. Let me make my case for this wonderful city that my family has called home for generations:
Opportunities
Colorado Springs has a strong economy that’s only on the rise and people are starting to take notice. Unemployment is lower than the national average, future job growth is positive, and there are a variety of massive construction projects underway.
When I think about my kids and their future, I know that they’ll have the economic opportunities they build any kind of life they desire here. When so much is uncertain, that’s a massive comfort.
Colorado Springs is growing and you could be a part of that growth. You can read more about the economic growth and opportunities in Colorado Springs.
Weather
You don’t worry about constantly battling the weather here in Colorado Springs. That might not sound like a substantial benefit but the pleasant temperatures and sunny days (an average of almost 250 per year!) go a long way toward keeping the city’s morale as high as the sky.
It’s such a pleasure to be able to get up and drink your warm beverage of choice outside almost all year round. The average temperature ranges from 17 degrees in the winter to 84 degrees in the summer.
The only thing you might have to worry about is some heavy snowfall in the winter but the possibility of waking up on Christmas morning to a winter wonderland makes it worth it.
Kids love throwing snowballs and building snowmen in the winter and jumping through sprinklers to cool down in the summer. In Colorado Springs, even the cold weather will warm your heart!
Schools
If you have kids or are planning to in the future, the quality of the local public school system is probably very important to you. If that’s something on your mind, rest assured that Colorado Springs schools are excellent.
Many of our high schools are even ranked on the Best High Schools rankings from U.S. News & World report.
Classes are small enough for students to get close, personalized instruction from their teachers. No one is falling through the cracks here.
Parents in the community, myself included, are happy with the progress kids make at school as students and as budding members of the community, too.
And if you and your kids love Colorado Springs like I’m confident you will, they don’t even have to leave the city for college. We have one of the top 10 public universities in the West, the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, right here.
Attractions
When we have guests visit from other cities or states, there are some standout must-see attractions that we simply have to bring them to, including the Garden of the Gods, the US Air Force Academy, and the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.
We’re not worried about getting bored, either, because there’s always more attractions in development, so keep an eye out for future developments.
But the most beautiful, appealing attraction of all in Colorado Springs is the unrivaled Colorado landscape. Located at the base of the Rocky Mountains, the city is full of incredible scenery and ways to connect with nature. It’s a joy for tourists and residents alike.
