As a fourth-generation native of Colorado Springs, I’ve seen the evolution of this wonderful community and even been a part of it myself. I can say now is a particularly exciting time for Colorado Springs. The many new developments will bring with them more opportunities for everyone.
New Opportunities for All
In a huge boost for the community, Amazon chose Colorado Springs for its new distribution center, their largest west of the Mississippi, bringing with it over 1000 jobs. In May, the U.S. Space Force announced that it will make Colorado Springs its home for at least the next six years.
In further developments, the first and only Olympic Museum and Hall of Fame in the United States opened last year in the heart of the city downtown. Joining the museum downtown will be the new stadium for the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC, due in mid-2021. Colorado College will also be building a new arena on campus for its CC Tigers hockey team in time for the 2021-2022 season.
Sports, commerce, entertainment, they’re all growing here and Colorado Spring is booming as a result. These varied projects are a testament to the allure and potential Colorado Springs has. They bring more than just jobs, too. They give the community greater stability and diversity that will enrich the experiences of everyone who lives here.
It’s an inspiring time in Colorado Springs and I’m as grateful as ever to be raising my daughters here, knowing that they will share in the community’s positive future.
